Ink Review: Sailor Jentle Shigure

I purchased Sailor Jentle Shigure (Rain Showers) from Fahrney’s Pens in Washington, D.C. for $18, which is the price you’ll find at many U.S. retailers. I really enjoy the Sailor Jentle inks, especially Yama-Dori, and I thought I’d give the purple ink in their Four Seasons line a shot.

Color (3/5):

Most of the purple inks I’ve tried thus far have been too vibrant for my tastes. But Sailor Jentle Shigure is a true dark purple. It has a nice blend of blue and red, but with a bit of black, pushing it toward the dark side. The color reminds me of rainy days being stuck indoors; not the happiest of emotions, but stays true to its name.

Performance (5/5):

Sailor Jentle Shigure is a well lubricated ink and flows nicely. It’s a saturated ink, but for the most part it’s easy to clean. Overall, no complaints here. A great, low-maintenance ink that performs well in many of my pens.

Overall Score (8/10):

Shigure is another well-performing ink in the Sailor Jentle line. It’s a nice shade of dark purple that flows great in many different pens. If you like dark purples, definitely check this out.
